The purpose of this project is by no means to glamorize Self Injury, only to recognize the impact it has had on popular culture and to create a point of reference.

If the bible is a piece of popular culture can of course be debatable. I did, however, feel that it is important to recognize that there are several references to self injury in the bible. The King James version has been used for the quotes.

The Self Injury Anthology Project now also includes special featured content.

There is always the questions of definition and interpretation and the author of this index does recognize that there are several pieces of popular culture that vaguely refers to self injury, that aren't included in the index. This is done, in order to keep the index focused. There are also going to be some inclusions that are debatable. Please send comments, additions or corrections to dh096@city.ac.uk.
